WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Republican leaders are expected to abandon a proposal for $1 billion in security money for the White House complex and President Donald Trump’s ballroom on Thursday after members amid backlash from members of their own party.
The last-minute scramble comes as Democrats have criticized Republicans for trying to fund Trump’s ballroom when voters are concerned about basic affordability issues — and as some GOP lawmakers have grown increasingly frustrated with Trump.

I made a talk last evening regarding social mood generates social events. An alert audience member posed the quetion, how does one detect a shift in mood? I answered that one needs to look for subtle changes in what everyone thought was an unstoppable force. The above report is a good example. Trup's attempt to put his name and signature on most everything is losing steam.
The article goes on to point out disappointment with Trump's endorsement of Paxton over seated Cornyn in the Senate. Using political capital to beat seated Republicans is something Trump cannot afford to do. Here in Texas Paxton carries lots of negative baggage and might well lose to Dem Talarico. Understand this is not a political statement it is a social mood observation.
